Biafra: Nigeria Must Unreservedly Apologize To Igbos Over Genocide, Ethnic Cleansing, Mass Murder – Fani Kayode

Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, Former Aviation Minister, has once again asked the Nigerian Government to offer unreserved apology to Igbos over Biafran Genocide.

He said Nigeria must offer unreserved apology to Igbos over genocide, ethnic cleansing and mass murder which led to death of over 3.5million people during Biafran War.

Fani-Kayode  who made the statement in a release on Tuesday obtained by Orsu24news, said that the act by the Nigerian government was the greatest, most cruel act of black on black violence and genocide in the history of Africa.

This is coming few days to May 30th ”Biafra Heroes day” celebration declared by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), to honour those killed during the Biafran War.

This is the second time Fani-Kayode openly condemned the genocide committed against Biafrans during the 3 year genocidal War.

According to him, “I have said it before and I will say it again, Nigeria must offer an unreserved apology to the Igbo people of the South East for the genocide, ethnic cleansing and mass murder that was unleashed on them during the Nigerian/Biafran civil war. 3 million Biafran civilians were slaughtered (1 millon of them children) in the space of three years during that conflict.

“This represents the greatest and most cruel act of black on black violence and genocide on the African continent in history.

“It is only surpassed, in terms of brutality and casualties, by the bestial acts of King Leopold 11 of Belgium when he and his white Belgian subjects slaughtered over 10 million Congolese in cold blood during the colonial era.

“Nothing can go right in Nigeria until a genuine and heartfelt expression of regret for what we did to the Biafrans is tendered by the leadership and people of our country and some form of restitution and compensation is made.

“The mass murder, ethnic cleansing and genocide that we are witnessing today in Nigeria and which is being inflicted on us by a callous, brutal, heartless, cold-blooded and wicked horde of strangers and homicidal maniacs that came from a distant foreign land 200 years ago is a spiritual consequence of what we did to the civilian Biafran population between 1967 and 1970.

“The only way that the carnage and bloodfest can be stopped and the vicious and endless cycle of violence can be broken is when we repent for what we did to those innocent and defenceles Biafran civilians during the civil war and apologise for it.

“Until then Nigeria will continue to wallow in blood, death, sorrow, failure, shame, poverty and carnage. Why? Because we are a nation under God’s judgement.
