The Federal Government has frowned at the arrest of pilots who flew oil workers into Rivers State on Tuesday by the River State Government.
Governor Wike, had on Wednesday last week announced the closure of land and sea borders in the state and a ban on vehicles entering or leaving the state to curtail the spread of coronavirus.
But the Federal Government on today Wednesday, said that the Police Commissioner and the Commander of the Air Force Base in Port Harcourt would have to answer for the alleged arrest of pilots in the state, which it described as incompetence.
Minister of Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika, reacted to the drama in Port Harcourt, saying the federal government would take necessary and constitutional actions on the matter.
The Presidential Task Force (PTF) on the COVID-19 pandemic also described reports that its members receive N500,000 daily allowance as fake news.
