IPOB’s Call For Referendum The Only Way Out, Not Restructuring – Agbakoba

The former President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Dr. Olisa Agbakoba (SAN), has rejected calls for Nigeria’s restructuring, says that call for referendum by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), is the only way out.

According to him, President Muhammadu Buhari made a mistake by charging the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, with treason.

“I see every politician now says restructure but I disagree. I also think the acting President was wrong to say that Nigeria is insoluble.

“There is nothing sacrosanct about Nigeria. It can blow up anytime. It’s an artificial creation, which was made in 1914 and when it was amalgamated we were not there. It was amalgamated in the interest of the colonialists,” Agbakoba said.

Agbakoba said Nnamdi Kanu shouldn’t have been charged with treason.

“For me, the best that he can be charged with is unlawful assembly and an act capable of breaching public peace.

“Those are the things he can be charged with, but not treason; because Nigeria is a signatory to the United Nations’ Charter, which recognises the right for self-determination,” he said.

I want to clear my voice on air. one thing that have to be clear to every Nigerian is that , there will be no peace in Nigeria as far as Nigeria is concern. The issue of “Biafra”and that of “AYCF ” Concerning the quite notice to Igbos that are living in North. ALL these issues have gone beyond unity and love in terms of one Nigeria. To my own idea and contribution to what is happening in Nigeria, I believe that referendum is the best to compere to what is right stand on ground in Nigeria.
There should be no room of misunderstanding concerning referendum. The thing is that one man one vote. Nigeria may carry the vote as well.
But it quite obvious that igbos are marginalizing by Nigeria government, which finally raise the clamour of secession in the country.
I believe that referendum the only solution to this country. Referendum remain the best solution of Nigeria no other thing hold peace only but referendum.
