Be Your Brothers Keepers – Northern Christians To Muslims

Christians in the 19 Northern states and the Federal Capital Territory have urged the Muslim community in the area to show love for one another and be their brothers’ keepers.

Northern CAN Chairman, Rev. Yakubu Pam, in a statement issued in Jos, also felicitated with President Muhammadu Buhari and other leaders in Nigeria and wished them well as they joined other Muslim faithful during the Eid-el-Kabir celebration to pray for enduring peace in all the states of the federation for the overall growth and development of the country.

Pam urged all Nigerians “to pray and work towards overcoming the current challenges facing Nigeria as they approach the 2019 general elections.”

According to him, the “present state of insecurity and activities of Boko Haram in the North-East of Nigeria must be overcome if adherents of both Christianity and Islam in the North by their acts and conduct begin to act as their brothers’ keepers by showing love to one another.”

He urged Nigerians to always pray for the peace of this country and the leadership to lead the people aright.

Pam used the occasion to call on the people of the North to embrace one another and stop acts that are capable of causing religious disharmony among the two main religions of Christianity and Islam in the Northern states and in the Federal capital territory.
