Leader of Biafran Independent Movement (BIM), Mr Ralph Uwazuruike, has asked Ndigbo not to vote for the All Progressives People’s Alliance (APGA) in the 2019 general election.
He accused the party of “fraud” by using the name of the founder of the party, Late Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, but not practising the ideals for which the late Biafran warlord founded the party.
Uwazurike, who spoke to Daily Trust on Monday, at the 8th Anniversary of Ojukwu’s death, said that for denying Ojukwu’s widow, Bianca, the ticket to represent Anambra South in the Senate, the party had no respect for Ojukwu and the Igbo nation.
He said, “The only party using the name of Ojukwu to gain relevance is APGA.
I have told Ndigbo not to vote to APGA. APGA is dead in Igboland. It is no longer an Igbo party.
By refusing to give the ticket to Ojukwu’s wife, APGA has betrayed him and the ideals he stood for.”
Speaking on the late Biafran warlord, Uwazurike, said that Ojukwu’s not dead, but resting.
Uwazurike said, “In our mind, Ojukwu is not dead, but resting. We remember him every day as our hero. On this day, marking the 8th anniversary of his rest, we honour and adore him as our leader.”
