Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose, has been attacked by some security operatives who blocked the entrance of the state’s government house, head Saturday’s gubernatorial election in the State.
Fayose escaped death in the hands of security operatives who allegedly fired teargas at him.
Security operatives blocked the government house, in Ado-Ekiti, capital of Ekiti state, a development which created tension among residents of the area who scuttled to safety.
It was gathered that the armed operatives fired gunshots into the air and released teargas.
Lere Olayinka, Ekiti State Governor’s Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, took to his verified Twitter page to update the governor’s supporters and Nigerians on the latest incident.
Fayose is currently receiving treatment at govt house clinic after he was hit by teargas canister fired by the policemen.
The armed policemen are still laying siege at the Govt House.”
